Taking the Strategic Health Assessment
The Strategic Health Assessment is a free, 10-minute evaluation that measures your organization's strategic maturity across the four phases of the Strategic Learning framework. It helps you identify strengths, blind spots, and areas for improvement — even before you start a formal planning process.
Who Should Take It?
The assessment is designed for:
- Business leaders considering a strategic planning initiative
- Teams wanting a baseline measurement of strategic health
- Consultants evaluating a client's strategic maturity
- Anyone curious about where their organization stands strategically
No account is required to take the assessment. It is available publicly.
How It Works
- Navigate to the Strategic Health Check page (linked from the landing page and resource library)
- Enter basic information about your organization (industry, company size, your role)
- Answer a series of multiple-choice questions covering:
- LEARN — How well do you understand your environment, industry, customers, and competitors?
- FOCUS — How clear are your strategic choices?
- ALIGN — How well is your organization aligned to execute?
- EXECUTE — How effectively do you implement and adapt?
- A progress bar shows how far you are through the assessment
- Click Complete Assessment when finished
Understanding Your Results
After completing the assessment, you receive an AI-powered analysis including:
- Overall Strategic Health Score — A composite score (0-100)
- Phase-by-Phase Scores — How you scored in each of the four phases
- Key Strengths — What your organization does well strategically
- Blind Spots — Areas you may not be addressing
- Recommendations — Specific actions to improve strategic health
- Recommended Starting Phase — Where your planning efforts would have the most impact
What to Do With Your Results
High Scores (70+)
Your organization has strong strategic foundations. Focus on the specific areas where you scored lower to move from good to great.
Mid Scores (40-69)
Solid in some areas but with significant gaps. Consider starting a formal strategic planning process using The Living Company, focusing first on your weakest phase.
Low Scores (Below 40)
Your organization would benefit significantly from a structured strategic planning approach. Start with the LEARN phase to build a foundation of understanding.
