Using the Competitive Analysis Dashboard

The Competitive Analysis Dashboard provides a unified view of your competitive landscape. It brings together competitor data, threat assessments, and AI-powered analysis to help you understand and respond to competitive dynamics.

Accessing the Dashboard

Navigate to Competitive Analysis from the navigation bar. This page is available once you have added at least one competitor to your organization data.

Stats Overview

The top of the page displays key competitive metrics:

  • Total Competitors — How many competitors you are tracking
  • High Threat — Competitors rated as high threat level
  • Direct Competitors — Competitors in your immediate space
  • Market Leaders — Competitors with market leader positioning

Competitor Cards

Each competitor is displayed as a card with:

  • Name and company description
  • Threat Level — Color-coded indicator (red for high, amber for medium, green for low)
  • Type — Direct, indirect, or substitute competitor
  • Market Position — Leader, challenger, follower, or niche player
  • Key Strengths — What they do well
  • Key Weaknesses — Where they fall short
  • Key Products — Their main offerings
  • Competitive Advantages — Why customers choose them

You can sort and filter competitors by threat level, type, or market position.

Adding and Editing Competitors

Click Add Competitor to enter a new competitor. You can also click Edit on any existing competitor card to update their information.

Tip: Do not limit yourself to obvious direct competitors. Include indirect competitors (companies in adjacent markets) and substitutes (alternative solutions to the same customer problem). These often pose the greatest long-term threats.

AI-Powered Analysis

Once you have completed the FOCUS phase of your strategic plan, the dashboard can display AI-generated competitive intelligence:

  • Competitive Opportunities — Where competitors are weak and you could gain ground
  • Competitive Vulnerabilities — Where you are exposed to competitive threats
  • Strategic Recommendations — Specific actions to strengthen your position

Integration with Planning

Competitor data entered here flows directly into your strategic planning sessions:

  • The AI Advisor references competitors by name during the LEARN phase
  • Competitor strengths and weaknesses inform your competitive focus in the FOCUS phase
  • Threat assessments help prioritize which competitive challenges to address
